Education Brisbane introduces Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) in Bondi Junction, for all your education and learning needs.
Who can attend these AMEP courses? Some people are notified in writing of their entitlement to AMEP services. If you have arrived recently, or in the last 5 years, you may be able to claim up to 510 hours of tuition, free. For more information call 9387 7400. You will also need to be: 18 years of age or older (some 15-17 year olds may be eligible if they have not enrolled in the Australian school system). A holder of a permanent visa From a non-English speaking background If you are proficient in spoken and written English you will not be eligible. What should I do first? You should register for classes within 6 months of the date of the commencement of your visa and start your first class within one year. How do I register? Call 9387 7400 and talk to one of our staff or Come into our office at 98 Bondi Road, 9am to 5pm, to register in person or Email your name and visa number to: amep@cityeastcc.com.au COURSE DETAILS English content is based on the Certificates in Spoken and Written English (CSWE), covering reading and writing skills for everyday life, speaking and listening. Are the courses free? Yes, these courses are free, if you are eligible. If you are not eligible, the City East Community College offers a wide range of English course at low cost. Do I need to attend an interview? Once we have determined that you are eligible to participate you will need to enrol by phone or in person here at 98 Bondi Road before you attend a class. Our AMEP staff will help you and advise you of what you need. You can bring somebody with you, if you need assistance or help with translation.
