Dandaragan Primary School is situated on spacious, well presented grounds. These feature very attractive lawns and gardens, complemented with recreational areas such as oval, adventure playgrounds and basketball court.
Approximately 50% of our students are from surrounding farms while the rest reside within the townsite. Dandaragan provides extensive sport and recreational facilities, a library, a general store and several small businesses servicing the surrounding population.
Our school believes that its purpose is to encourage and develop enthusiasm within students and instil in them a love of learning in order to help them reach their potential socially and academically. Our school motto 'Work - Honour' reflects our view that working to achieve their best is a virtue worth valuing.
We have a very experienced team of teachers, many of whom are long term residents and contribute greatly to the community. The teaching and support staff are committed and dedicated to providing an extensive and educationally rich learning programme for all students.

Our school's learning programmes cover all 8 learning areas of the curriculum with Indonesian being delivered by the latest technology by School of Isolated and Distance Education. Teachers are developing the knowledge and skills to implement the new Australian Curriculum. The school has a priority on Literacy and Numeracy with whole school approaches being developed and refined to provide the best practice in these essential areas.
The school has a very talented Drama specialist teacher with our students performing annually in an Arts festival. We have a Technology and Enterprise Learning Centre, which allows students access to tools, storage and space to expand the scope of their work in this area. The school receives funding through the Priority Country Areas Programme which provides additional resources and increases the opportunities for children to attend a wide range of cultural and sporting events throughout the district. The school is very well resourced with computers and a student to computer ratio of 3:1.This allows all students to have access to computers in their own classrooms and a bank of computers to support whole class activities.
